If you have one free day, Charyn Canyon or Big Almaty Lake are the classic choices. With two days you can pair Charyn with the Kolsai and Kaindy Lakes and stay in a lakeside guesthouse. With three or more, we add Altyn Emel and its Singing Dune. We are honest about driving distances up front, because a good day in the mountains starts with realistic timing, not a packed brochure.
