Do I need horse riding experience?

No. The horses are calm and used to guests, the wrangler and guide ride with you, and we set the pace to the slowest comfortable rider. Two half days of roughly three hours each. Most people are nervous at the start of day one and confident by the end of day two.

How comfortable are the nights?

Varied on purpose. Two nights in a simple guesthouse at Altyn Emel, three nights in modern yurts in Saty with showers and toilets inside and three meals a day, and one night camping inside Charyn Canyon. The camp is the highlight, not a hardship.

What is the camping night actually like?

We carry the gear down into the canyon by vehicle and set up the tent before you arrive, so you walk in light and find your bed waiting. Dinner on the fire, s'mores, and a sky with no light pollution. Mornings are slow and quiet before the drive home.

Yes, the horse route passes mountain rivers and lakes where fishing is possible, and we can cook a fresh catch over the fire. Ask us and we will build it into the day.
